Irving & Ruth Pink award for youth development & social justice - 2015
The Pink family has a long tradition of giving back to communities, organizations and groups in which they believe in and are passionate about. This award is given to an individual or organization that works with youth in some capacity in Nova Scotia. Irving and Ruth created a legacy in the legal community that has been passed down through three generations, with 12 lawyers in the family to date. Their four children are successful in their chosen fields and continue to follow in their parent’s footsteps of integrity and philanthropy
To celebrate this wonderful family tradition of community involvement and the generous endowment that we have been provided, we created the Irving and Ruth Pink Award for Youth Development and Social Justice to recognize the work being done on behalf of youth across our province by an individual or organization.
21inc 21leaders program - 2014
The 21Leaders program is a province-wide leadership development program spanning 10-months. It targets young leaders in each Maritime province who have been demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and are attuned to the needs of their communities. These leaders, from across the province, come together and are paired up with a seasoned mentor, giving them the potential to stretch themselves early on in their professional paths. These 21Leaders will grow from the group diversity and finding a network of like-minded individuals, which provides peer-support as well as a safe environment in which to engage in enriching dialogues. Finally, the opportunity provided through the program of launching a community-initiative and bringing it to fruition after 10 months will represent the ideal platform for the selected leaders to take their leadership to the next level.
